Realistic Minecraft (for jackasses)

Look, here’s the deal. Minecraft is a perfect video game and I’ve still never seen anything else that I truly love more. It has EVERYTHING. Well… except decent graphics, that is. Not any more, my friend. We messed around with Continuum Shaders and the Realistico Resource Pack and the result is so incredibly lifelike. Well, I mean lifelike in the way that those weird old Davey and Goliath Christian claymation videos were lifelike. But, guess what? I’ll fucking take it!

Here’s a scenario:

Doctor: I’m sorry Shane, your body was horribly mangled in that hamburger car crash. I’m not sure why you thought a hamburger car was a good idea, but you were definitely wrong. In any case, you’ll never walk again. That’s the bad news.

Me: Drag. What’s the good news?

Doctor: We can keep your brain alive forever in this jar. You can experience the real world but you can live in this Minecraft server with Realistico textures and Continuum shaders. Also, your friends can come and visit you whenever they want.

Me: *unplugs life support immediately*

Lost Dorks Minecraft – Nature Server (part 2)

Here is part two of our adventure into the Lost Dorks Nature server. This server runs our own modpack (available in the Technic Launcher). It’s primarily focused on nature and magic. So, lots of Witchery, Twilight Forest, etc. This video was from our first night of playing on the server and we actually tackle a Naga at the end of the video.

Throughout, Colin talks trash about my tiny house and makes jokes about the Grateful Dead, Frank snakes me, Everyone complains and we spend WAY too much time trying to figure out how to get the Naga achievement. Enjoy!

Lost Dorks Minecraft – Nature Server (part 1)

We play craploads of Minecraft. It might actually be the best video game of ALL TIME. There, I said it. Anyway, our resident mod wizard, Agathezol, put together a new collection of mods that we are calling Lost Dorks Nature. (Oh, right, Lost Dorks is the name of our video game guild).

Anyway, the modpack focuses on things like Witchery and the Twilight Forest and there is very little technology. We wanted the focus to be on exploring and whatnot. On our own server, where we run this modpack, we set the difficulty to 3 and hilariousness ensued. Let me tell you, trying to clear the Minotaur Labyrinth at that difficulty level is very, very hard. Hell, I think some of us died nearly 100 times, just on the first few days in the Overworld. Thankfully we had the Gravestones mod installed so you can go get your loot. Unfortunately, we had the Gravestones mod installed so the spawn point is littered with dozens of gravestones. It’s like straight up Pet Cemetary… only for people.

Anyway, this video is part 1 of our first night playing on the server. It’s lots of complaining and even more dying.
